The Rheinland-Pfälzische wine-growing town of Bodenheim was home to brass founder Peter Hilge. His business: special taps, fittings, and threaded connectors for winemakers. Hilge was a resourceful inventor and, in 1865, developed the "Rheinische Circularpumpe," the world's first beverage pump. Today, the former Hilge GmbH & Co. is part of the GEA Group.
