A significant milestone for a sustainable energy future has been reached in Arlesheim.

The new district heating plant of a Swiss energy supplier is now equipped with six state-of-the-art district heating pumps – supplied and successfully commissioned by aran ag. This advanced system ensures an efficient and reliable heat supply and makes a significant contribution to the regional energy transition. By 2027, the plant is expected to achieve an annual heat production of 51,000 megawatt hours, which is sufficient to supply approximately 5,100 single-family homes.

Technical specifications of the six precision pumps:

– Flow rate: 255 m³/h
– Head: 220 m
– Motor power: 220 kW
– Pump head: approx. 3.0 m

Intelligent resource utilization: Waste heat from regional data centers

The system primarily utilizes waste heat from the data centers of a Basel energy center – a prime example of innovative circular economy and efficient resource utilization.

The smooth transport, the millimeter-precise installation, and the successful commissioning were made possible by the outstanding collaboration of our team of experts and our partners.

With this pioneering solution, we are jointly setting new standards for a safe, sustainable, and climate-friendly district heating supply for future generations.
