Exchange of experience at eye level

The industry sectors unite individual sub-sectors within the MEM industries. The activities of the 24 Swissmem industry sectors are very diverse. Their services offer added value that goes far beyond normal Swissmem membership.

One focus of the industry sectors is the exchange of experience and networking. They also collect key figures and data relevant to the market. Marketing activities are also important, e.g. in the context of joint appearances at leading international trade fairs or through the publication of brochures and technical articles. Many industry sectors are also members of European or global umbrella organisations. Last but not least, the industrial sectors contribute their needs to the adaptation of curricula at VET and UAS level.

Each industrial sector organises itself and functions largely autonomously within Swissmem. The activities are primarily determined by their committees and the needs of the member companies. Swissmem provides the administrative framework and is responsible for the professional organisation of the activities.
